It seems like nearly every day we hear about another lie the government has told citizens, or has been caught telling citizens. It’s probably realistic to assume government will tell some lies, but constantly tell lies? What type of government is this?
The United States was created as a republic, which means a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them. Does that sound like the type of government that we have today?
Does this form of government sound more familiar to you: arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power, oppressive or unjustly severe government, undue severity or harshness? That form of government is called tyranny.
Think of all the times the United States has gone into battle around the world to free countries from tyrannical governments, and now we are ruled by one!
