During the 2016 presidential campaign, candidate Donald Trump brought up the fact that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 occurred while candidate Jeb Bush’s (CFR) brother, George W. Bush, was president. Trump has also made references to the classified 28 pages of the 9/11 commission report that reportedly prove Saudi Arabia, not Iraq, was behind the attacks.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), commenting on reading the 28 pages, said, “As I read it — we all had our own experience — I had to stop every couple pages and just sort of absorb and try to rearrange my understanding of history for the past 13 years and years leading up to that. It challenges you to rethink everything.”
Jeb, of course, defended his brother from Trump’s comments by saying that his brother kept us safe after 9/11. Bush commented on Twitter by saying, “How pathetic for @realdonaldtrump to criticize the president for 9/11. We were attacked & my brother kept us safe.”
So who is correct? Did George Bush keep us safe after 9/11?
The answer to that is, it’s the wrong question to ask.
Events in 1998 —
In 2002, a congressional joint inquiry into the intelligence failures that led to the 9/11 attacks revealed that in 1998, the intelligence community learned that “a group of unidentified Arabs planned to fly an explosive-laden plane from a foreign country into the World Trade Center.” Apparently no action was taken on the information. In addition, inadequate resources were used when investigating Al-Qaeda members.
According to the head of the inquiry, “intelligence agencies received further information concerning a Bin Laden plot involving aircraft in the New York and Washington DC areas.” A U. S. airport was identified in the report as being a possible target.
Events in 1999 —
Two years before the 9/11 attacks, training exercises using planes as weapons to fly into buildings were being conducted by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). One of the training targets used was the World Trade Center, and another was the Pentagon.
NORAD confirmed regional drills had taken place, but they weren’t on a regular training schedule. According to NORAD, “Numerous types of civilian and military aircraft were used as mock hijacked aircraft. These exercises tested track detection and identification; scramble and interception; hijack procedures; internal and external agency coordination and operational security and communications security procedures.”
When asked about this information in 2004, the Bush Administration, of course, denied any knowledge of these training exercises.
Events in 2000 —
According to sources, two of the 9/11 hijackers met in January 2000, with members of al Qaeda. The CIA was aware of this information at the time. Three weeks before the 9/11 attacks, the FBI tried to locate the two hijackers. It’s unknown why the FBI didn’t act earlier.
National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice (CFR) said that beginning in December 2000, warning signs of an attack in the United States by al Qaeda were being received by the White House. Although the warning signs continued into the summer, it was not known when an attack might occur or where, according to intelligence agencies.
Events in May 2001 —
Four months before 9/11, in May 2001, the CIA felt, “it was very evident that we were going to be struck, we were gonna be struck hard and lots of Americans were going to die.” As a result, the CIA began desperately warning the White House over and over again that an attack was going to happen.
At about the same time, CIA Director George Tenet (CFR) advised Bush’s national security team of a plan he had to stop the al Qaeda threat once and for all. The plan involved a paramilitary operation in Afghanistan. Bush’s team said, “we’re not quite ready to consider this. We don’t want the clock to start ticking.” To the CIA, this meant the Administration didn’t want a paper trail that could be used to prove they were warned.
Events in June 2001 —
On June 1, 2001, the Director of the Joint Staff for the Department of Defense (DOD) changed how the DOD would respond to hijacked aircraft. Effective immediately, intercept orders would be personally issued by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld (BB, CFR). Field commanders no longer had authority to act in an emergency situation. The new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction (CJCSI) stated, “In the event of a hijacking, the NMCC (National Military Command Center) will be notified by the most expeditious means by the FAA. The NMCC will, with the exception of immediate responses as authorized by reference d, forward requests for DOD assistance to the Secretary of Defense for approval.”
American intelligence agencies were just beginning to intercept al Qaeda communications talking about the largest attack they had ever planned. Some of the al Qaeda members used “Hiroshima” to describe the attack.
As the warnings to the White House became more desperate, the CIA’s daily brief of June 22, 2001, said al Qaeda attacks could be “imminent.” There was still no definite time frame according to intelligence they had received.
Incredibly, a few members of the Administration believed that the CIA had been duped, and bin Laden was only creating a diversion for Saddam Hussein, who was seen as the bigger threat, by simulating the preparations for an attack.
Outraged at the Administration’s continual ignoring of its warnings, the CIA’s June 29, 2001, daily brief said, “The U.S. is not the target of a disinformation campaign by Usama Bin Laden.” The briefing mentioned a recent interview with a Middle Eastern journalist who had reported warnings by bin Laden aides of a coming attack.
Also on June 29, 2001, an operative with ties to bin Laden reported the impending attacks would involve major casualties and have “dramatic consequences.”
Events in July 2001 —
According to a British newspaper, in July 2001, an aide to the Taliban’s foreign minister was sent to alert the U. S. consul general in Pakistan of an impending massive attack on American soil planned by Osama bin Laden. Washington was never notified. The warning was made because the minister feared U. S. retaliation on his country if the U. S. were attacked.
Citing “warning fatigue” from so many alerts, the warning was ignored. This is also why the FBI and CIA did not regard warnings about several flight school students throughout the U. S. being Islamist fundamentalists as significant.
The same aide was also sent to warn the UN in Kabul. Officials at the UNSMA political office listened to what he had to report, but did not notify UN headquarters. The officials thought the aide sounded too desperate about trying to get help for his country to be taken seriously.
As the attack warnings continued to increase, intelligence agencies and the White House grew more concerned, and threat warnings were finally issued in June and July by the FBI about a Fourth of July terrorist attack possibility. Other federal agencies also issued warnings.
According to the CIA Director George Tenet (CFR), “The world felt like it was on the edge of eruption. In this time period of June and July, the threat continues to rise. Terrorists were disappearing [as if in hiding, in preparation for an attack]. Camps were closing. Threat reportings on the rise.”
The CIA’s July 1, 2001, daily brief said that, although delayed, the attack “will occur soon.” Some of the briefs continued to report that the timing on the attack was flexible, but the attack was on track. No action was taken by the White House.
Condoleezza Rice would later say that at the July 5th morning meeting, the president asked her to find out what was being done about all the threat warnings they were receiving. As a result of the request, she met with White House Counterterrorism Coordinator Richard A. Clarke concerning the threat warnings escalation.
On July 9th, an extremist with al Qaeda links advised his followers in Chechnya that big news was coming soon. The White House was advised of this 48 hours later, but again the White House did nothing.
On July 10, an email from a Phoenix FBI agent was sent to eight people, six in FBI headquarters, and two in the New York Division, which included members of the Osama bin Laden Unit and the Radical Fundamentalists Unit. The email expressed the concerns of the FBI agent regarding the amount of flight school students that had radical Islamic connections. The agent recommended checking for a pattern by investigating all flight schools nationwide.
Several recipients of the email never read it. Those that did read it did nothing. One agent replied there was “no big secret” flight training students included Arab men. Insufficient resources was the excuse used for not taking action on the memo.
Condoleezza Rice would later say that President Bush was never informed of the Phoenix memo prior to 9/11.
On July 24, when advised the attack had been delayed by a few months, the president requested a more detailed analysis of al Qaeda, because he thought briefings he had been receiving about possible attacks were inadequate.
Events in August 2001 —
The CIA issued a reminder report to the Bush Administration in August 2001, that the possibility of an attack still existed even though the attack they had expected in July did not happen. The majority of the information had been used as justification for the warnings made in June and July, although a little new information was contained in the report. Hijacking airplanes was not referenced in the report.
On August 6, 2001, five weeks before 9/11, the daily brief had a heading of “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.”
At the insistence of the 9/11 Commission, the August 6th daily brief was declassified on April 10, 2004. The Bush Administration claimed the brief was just an analysis of the history of al Qaeda, despite the sensational heading. The brief does discuss terrorist attacks in the 1990s that bin Laden was involved in, and how some of the terrorists working for him were American citizens. It also makes reference to bin Laden saying several times he wanted to attack America, but no specific date was mentioned.
Yet, the brief clearly states, “Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks including recent surveillance of federal buiildings in New York.” The brief then stated, “The FBI is conducting approximately 70 full field investigations throughout the US that it considers Bin-Ladin related. CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our Embassy in the UAE in May saying that a group of Bin Ladin supporters was in the US planning attacks with explosives.”
The presumed 20th 9/11 hijacker, French citizen Zacarias Moussaoui, was taken into custody on August 13, 2001. Flight school officials in Minnesota thought his behavior was suspicious enough to report him to the FBI. During his FBI interview following his arrest on immigration charges, Moussaoui denied being a terrorist and said he was just interested in learning how to fly.
Condoleezza Rice would later claim the White House had never been advised about Moussaoui’s arrest for attempting to use a 747 flight simulator for training without having an adequate piloting background.
At about the same time, the CIA learned two of the future hijackers were in the United States when they notified Immigration (ICE) officials to put the two on the watch list so they could not enter the United States. The FBI was notified to find the two men, but were unsuccessful.
After 9/11, when the CIA reviewed the list of dead hijackers from Flight 77, they recognized three names, two of which the FBI had been searching for since August. One of those two men had ties to one of the USS Cole bombing suspects.
On August 30, 2001, two weeks prior to 9/11, a Sarasota, FL, Saudi family suddenly left their home and all their possessions behind. Later, law enforcement learned the family had ties to the 9/11 hijackers. The hijackers had exchanged phone calls with the family and also visited the home.
In the year leading up to 9/11, several hijackers lived in Venice, FL Mohammad Atta and an accomplice took flying lessons at a Venice airport flight school, and another accomplice took flying lessons a block away. Venice is 10 miles from Sarasota, FL, and these are the hijackers that interacted with the family that vanished.
Ten years later it would be revealed that none of this information was given to Congress or the 9/11 Commission. According to former Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL), co-chair of the congressional inquiry into 9/11, had this information been known, a greater examination of Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the attacks could have been conducted. Graham said this was similar to an incident where a connection between some of the hijackers and other Saudis in California was never revealed by the FBI. The information was uncovered by congressional investigators.
Events in September 2001 Prior to the 9/11 Attack —
Approximately one week before 9/11, General Mahmoud Ahmad, Chief of Pakistan’s military intelligence agency ISI, met with Bush administration officials. In addition, Ahmad met with Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL), the future chair of the joint Senate and House inquiry into 9/11, and Rep. Porter Goss (R-FL) (CFR), the future director of the CIA. Amnad financed the 9/11 hijackers.
On September 6, 2001, a Palestinian student was looking out the window of his Manhattan classroom when his teacher asked what he was staring at. Pointing at the World Trade Center the student replied, “Do you see those two buildings? They won’t be standing there next week.” The police were contacted, and the FBI’s terrorism task force subsequently took charge of the case. He wasn’t the only student being scrutinized by the FBI.
On September 7, 2001, Florida Governor Jeb Bush issued Executive Order No. 01-261, which declares martial law. That was one business day from 9/11.
The Executive Order states it was necessary in the event “potential massive damage to life and property that may result from an act of terrorism.” The Executive Order also revoked Executive Order No. 01-17, which would have expired on June 30, 2001, and was identical to EO No. 01-261, except for the act of terrorism language.
Why was terrorism language added to the martial law Executive Order four days before a major terrorist attack? Did Bush know what was going to happen?
On September 10, 2001, a student of Middle Eastern descent in Jersey City, NJ, advised his sixth-grade teacher, “Essentially, he warned her to stay away from lower Manhattan because something bad was going to happen,” according to the police. School officials denied a 9/11 connection, but the FBI task force took charge of the case anyway.
On September 10, 2001, travel plans for September 11 were suddenly cancelled by several top Pentagon officials. Hmmm . . . what did they know and when did they know it?
On September 10, 2001, two messages, “The match is about to begin” and “Tomorrow is zero hour,” regarding something occurring the following day were intercepted by the NSA. The Arabic-language messages were translated on September 12, 2001, due to the fact that since it was unknown who was speaking in the messages they weren’t given a top priority for immediate translation. This information was revealed in a June 20, 2002, congressional committee meeting by NSA Director Lt. Gen. Michael V. Hayden (CFR), whose agency is tasked with the interception and analysis of electronic messages.
Intelligence officials later said, “If you had it on September 10th, what does it tell you that is actionable?”
A British government report stated that prior to September 11, 2001, Osama bin Laden had been saying “he was preparing a major attack on America.” The report also states that bin Laden had advised his associates to be in Afghanistan by September 10, and some associates said the date of the attack was September 11.
The September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack —
On the morning of September 11, 2001, the U. S. intelligence agency National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) was conducting an exercise to determine the response of employees in an emergency situation. The exercise involved the simulation (no actual aircraft was used) of a corporate jet crashing into one of the four towers at the NRO’s headquarters, and was scheduled several months earlier. The simulation included closing off some starwells and exits to test employees abilities to locate alternate ways for evacuation.
According to a spokesman, “It was just an incredible coincidence that this happened to involve an aircraft crashing into our facility. As soon as the real world events began, we canceled the exercise.” Fifty minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the exercise, the Pentagon was hit by Flight 77.
According to a homeland security announcement about a CIA officer (John Fulton) that was the head of NRO’s strategic gaming division, “On the morning of September 11th 2001, Mr. Fulton and his team … were running a pre-planned simulation to explore the emergency response issues that would be created if a plane were to strike a building. Little did they know that the scenario would come true in a dramatic way that day.”
In reality, five or six “training exercises” occurred prior to 9/11, as well as on 9/11. As a result, as many as 22 “hijacked” planes appeared on the radar screens of NORAD on 9/11. Thinking this was the scheduled drill, procedures that would have normally been followed in the event of hijackings were delayed.
The first drill occurring on 9/11 involved fighter jets being sent to Alaska and Canada, instead of their usual assignment of patrolling the east coast. This increased the vulnerability of the east coast and had been planned months earlier.
According to reports in 2004, during the 9/11 drill an air traffic controller said, “is this real world or an exercise?” This was in response to being told a hijacked plane was headed for New York.
Another exercise involved a September 12th biowarfare exercise. As revealed in testimony by Mayor Rudy Giuliani at the 9/11 Commission hearings, a command post at Pier 29 had been set up by FEMA’s National Urban Search and Rescue Team after arriving on September 10th. Giuliani would later use this as a command post following evacuation of WTC Building 7 when warned the towers were about to collapse. “We were operating out of there when we were told that the World Trade Center was gonna collapse,” Giuliani told the media.
It’s significant that Guiliani received warning of the imminent collapse of the South Tower. because just before the collapse only minimal fires were being reported by firefighters. This was the first time in history fire damage caused the collapse of a steel framed building. No firefighters were warned, which could have saved many lives.
In a 2002 documentary, WTC complex owner Larry Silverstein admitted having “pulled” Building 7 by demolition, with the approval of the NYFD. Only small fires on two floors of WTC 7 existed at the time, based on photographs taken just prior to the collapse.
Silverstein had signed a 99-year lease for the World Trade Center on July 24, 2001. The collapse of WTC 7 resulted in approximately a $500 million profit for Silverstein on a $386 million investment.
Several of the exercises involved the north east sector dealing with hijacked planes. As these exercises began to correspond to 9/11, NORAD’s warning officer received a call at 8:40 a.m. from Boston Center regarding a hijacked plane. According to the media, she said, “It must be part of the exercise.”
Normally the 177th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard, stationed at Atlantic City International Airport, maintains two F-16s on the runway with the pilots on standby at all times. Since the airport is eight minutes from New York, Flight 11 and Flight 175 could have been intercepted, but the jets had been assigned a different mission on 9/11 and were unarmed. After both towers had been hit, the F-16s were sent to the area after being loaded with air-to-air missiles.
All the chaos and confusion on the morning of 9/11, as well as air defenses being inoperative, had obviously been well planned. Who would have been in a position to have planned everything? How about Emperor Palpatine himself, Dick Cheney (CFR, TC)!
Originally taken to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center underground bunker, the response to the attack was controlled by Cheney. Many people were with Cheney in the bunker, including Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta. He was even with Cheney as Flight 77 advanced on Washington, D.C. Mineta would later testify at the 9/11 Commission hearings what he witnessed prior to the plane hitting the Pentagon:
“During the time that the airplane was coming in to the Pentagon, there was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President, “The plane is 50 miles out.” “The plane is 30 miles out.” And when it got down to “the plane is 10 miles out,” the young man also said to the Vice President, “Do the orders still stand?” And the Vice President turned and whipped his neck around and said, “Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?”
What was the order? Apparently not to interfere with the plane. Mineta testified that since he was not present when the order was given, he didn’t know what it was.
Cheney was subsequently moved to a different location and joined by top administration officials, including Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz (CFR).
Why was Vice President Cheney in charge and not President Bush? Because of a presidential order, signed in May 2001, transferring all wargame and drill operational control to Cheney. This means Cheney was personally responsible for making sure no hijacked planes were prevented from flying into buildings and killing approximately 3,000 people, probably including some citizens that had voted Bush and Cheney into office 10 months earlier.
Due to a runway delay, Flight 93 was the only plane NORAD was able to stop from reaching its target that morning, by shooting it down.
When a training exercise is conducted at the same time the exercise occurs in real time, it’s called a false flag operation. This is frequently used to confuse the first responders so they don’t interfere with the real attack happening. It usually acts as a diversion to cover up something else that happened.
As a high school was being evacuated on September 11, 2001, a Middle Eastern student advised other students, “. . . not to ride any city buses because he had been told at his mosque the week before to stay off all public transportation for a while. He said it wouldn’t be safe,” according to police. His teacher had reported this to the police, and subsequently the FBI task force took charge of the case.
A school official later said that many of the 509 Arab-American students told stories of having prior knowledge of 9/11. “Kids are telling us that the attacks didn’t surprise them. This was a nicely protected little secret that circulated in the community around here. I guess they were talking about it among themselves, but they didn’t share it with us, at least not before the attacks, ” the official said. A student at the school later commented about many of the Arab-American students photographing the towers being destroyed. “Don’t you think it’s strange so many of them happened to take their cameras to school that particular day?” the student asked.
In a September 16, 2001 interview to obfuscate the truth, Cheney said, “I suppose the toughest decision was this question of whether or not we would intercept incoming commercial aircraft. We decided to do it. We’d, in effect, put a flying combat air patrol up over the city; F-16s with an AWACS, which is an airborne radar system, and tanker support so they could stay up a long time… It doesn’t do any good to put up a combat air patrol if you don’t give them instructions to act, if, in fact, they feel it’s appropriate.”
When asked if the government would take a hijacked plane down bound for the Capitol or the White House, Cheney responded, “Yes. The president made the decision…that if the plane would not divert…as a last resort, our pilots were authorized to take them out. Now, people say, you know, that’s a horrendous decision to make. Well, it is. You’ve got an airplane full of American citizens, civilians, captured by…terrorists, headed and are you going to, in fact, shoot it down, obviously, and kill all those Americans on board?”
“…It’s a presidential-level decision, and the president made, I think, exactly the right call in this case, to say, “I wished we’d had combat air patrol up over New York.”
Remember, Cheney was in charge during wargames and drills. The air patrol normally available for New York had been reassigned that day so there was no patrol available until after the planes hit the World Trade Center.
This is simply an unbelievable photograph of Vice President Cheney on September 11, 2001. He is sitting with his feet propped up while watching the World Trade Center burning, on the television in the upper left side of the photograph. At the time, Cheney was the Vice President of a country that had just suffered a horrific terrorist attack that killed approximately 3,000 people, mostly Americans.
Is this how a vice president would show concern for his fellow citizens and country in a time of great tragedy and anguish, or is this how someone expecting a terrorist attack would act?
Cheney is pictured in several photographs from 9/11, including one in the President’s Emergency Operations Center bunker, with other staff that were also evacuated. In the picture inside the bunker, the conference table appears to show coffee and pastries for at least 60 people. The kitchen and mess staff had already evacuated, so where did the refreshments for such a large group come from?
As the horror of 9/11 was unfolding, a very important meeting was taking place in Washington, D.C. The annual investors’ conference of the Carlyle Group was in session.
Created in 1987, the secretive private investment company members are comprised of globalists and influential Saudis. Members of the Group include John Major, former British Prime Minister and current president of Chatham House, a sister organization to the Council on Foreign Relations; Afsaneh Beschloss (CFR), former treasurer of the World Bank (a NWO org); George H. W. Bush (CFR, TC), former U. S. president and CIA director; James Baker III (CFR), former secretary of state and treasury secretary; Frank Carlucci (CFR, TC), former CIA director and defense secretary; and Shaliq bin Laden, brother of Osama bin Laden.
Attendees at the 9/11 meeting included George H. W. Bush, James Baker III, Frank Carlucci, and Shaliq bin Laden.
The Bushes have been involved in oil deals with the Saudis for decades. This might be why planes were sent to pick up two dozen bin Laden family members and 116 other Saudis, in ten different cities, and take them back to Saudi Arabia after having been authorized to do so by top White House officials. This occurred after all planes had been grounded because of 9/11. According to a former FBI official, the Saudis “were not subject to serious interviews or interrogations.”
The former Bush presidents have entertained Prince Bandar, Saudi ambassador to the U. S., at their summer homes. Bandar Bush, as he was nicknamed, has donated millions of dollars to Bush causes, and encouraged other Saudis to make similar donations. Apparently two of the 9/11 hijackers received financial assistance through charitable contributions made by the wife of Prince Bandar.
Approximately one month after 9/11, the bin Laden family left the Carlyle Group because the war on terror provided opportunities for them to make millions of dollars.
Events in September 2001 After the 9/11 Attack —
Following the 9/11 attacks, the approximately two dozen Osama bin Laden family members in the U. S. were very afraid to be in the country. One of bin Laden’s brothers contacted the Washington, D. C., Saudi Arabian Embassy requesting protection, and was dispatched to wait in a Watergate Hotel room and not open the door. Eventually the family was evacuated with FBI supervision to Texas and on to Washington.
Documents released in 2005 detail how Saudis fleeing the U. S. after 9/11 were personally escorted to the airport by the FBI.
The FAA issued a no-fly ban for all private planes the morning of 9/13/2001. Yet in the afternoon of the same day, three Saudis flew a private jet from Tampa, FL, to Lexington, KY, where they subsequently boarded a 747 and left the country.
According to documents released in 2007, the FBI knew that one of the chartered flights bin Laden family members used to leave the U. S. within days of 9/11 may have been paid for by Osama bin Laden. However, the FBI did not question any of the family on the 9/19/01 flight before they left the country.
Some of the documents contain inconsistencies and errors. One document says 20 of 23 passengers were interviewed by the FBI, but another document says it was 15 of 22 passengers.
The documents were obtained as a result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. The first time the documents were released, Osama bin Laden’s name had been redacted “to protect privacy interests.” Whose “privacy interests” were being protected? A terrorist suspected of killing 3,000 people?
A judge later ordered the FBI to provide the documents with “proper disclosures,” which revealed the surprising information. An FBI spokesman said the information was inaccurate and bin Laden did not charter a flight.
The behavior by the FBI should not come as a total surprise since the Bush administration had previously ordered intelligence agencies to “back off the Bin Laden family” to safeguard Bushs, bin Ladens, and other Saudis business arrangements. After 9/11, the policy was no longer in effect.
A brother of Osama bin Laden financed a company that made millions of dollars for George W. Bush in the 1980’s. In congressional testimony about a possible link between Bush, bin Laden, and 9/11, the lawyer of an FBI agent under a gag order said, “The Bush Family vacations with the Bin Ladens”.
The names of the 9/11 hijackers were released by the FBI approximately two days after the attacks. Initially 18 names were released, but the number was soon increased to 19, and their photos were released several days later. Yet, there were no Arabic names on the passenger lists.
In the weeks following the attacks, doubts about the accuracy of the names of the hijackers began appearing in the media in the United States and Britain. The claim was that seven of the hijackers had committed identity theft. Some of the victims of the identity theft came forward to say they were not involved in the 9/11 attacks.
In a surprising turn of events, in September 2002, the FBI director told the media that his agency had “no legal proof to prove the identities of the suicidal hijackers.” Amazingly, the media just dropped the story after that revelation. No changes whatsoever were made to the published names and photos of the hijackers by the FBI. A spokesman for the FBI would later state that there was no mistake in the names identified as the hijackers. “There has been no change in thought about the identities of those who boarded those planes. It’s like saying my name is John Smith. There are a lot of people with the name of John Smith, but they’re not the same person,” according to the spokesman.
In an ABC News interview with the FBI near the end of September, it was confirmed that Pakistan financed Mohammed Atta. The interview revealed that —
“As to September 11th, federal authorities have told ABC News they have now tracked more than $100,000 from banks in Pakistan, to two banks in Florida, to accounts held by suspected hijack ring leader, Mohammed Atta. As well . . . “Time Magazine” is reporting that some of that money came in the days just before the attack and can be traced directly to people connected to Osama bin Laden. It’s all part of what has been a successful FBI effort so far to close in on the hijacker’s high commander, the money men, the planners and the mastermind.”
The financier of the terrorists was known by the FBI. Days later the Agence France Presse (AFP) and a report from Indian intelligence corroborated the FBI’s information. According to the information, in the summer of 2001 Ahmad Umar Sheikh, acting at the behest of ISI Chief General Mahmoud Ahmad, had wired $100,000 to Mohammad Atta from Pakistan.
Remember, the week before 9/11 General Mahmoud Ahmad was in the U. S. meeting with various officials in the Bush Administration. Prior to 9/11, he met with his counterpart CIA Director George Tenet. On 9/11, he met with Sen. Bob Graham, Rep. Porter Goss, Sen. John Kyl, and Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s U. S. ambassador. After 9/11, Ahmad met with Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage (CFR), Secretary of State Colin Powell (CFR), and Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) (CFR), future Vice President of the United States.
Armitage met with Ahmad to obtain the “cooperation” of Pakistan’s intelligence agency to fight the “war on terrorism” by hunting down bin Laden with the assistance of the person that financed 9/11 for bin Laden!
After the 9/11 attacks, not knowing the date and location of the attack was the excuse used by the Bush Administration to counter criticism they had ignored numerous warnings of an attack. However, not knowing the date of an attack is not the same thing as not knowing an attack is coming!
Approximately one month before 9/11, the Financial Times of Asia reported a link between Deutschebank, the CIA, heroin smuggling in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the profits being handled through money laundering. Massive insider stock trading in aviation stocks tied to 9/11 was traced to Germany’s Deutschebank. It was also discovered that the CIA had business relationships with some of the companies that placed the trades.
After 9/11, President Bush ordered a financial crackdown on banks involved with insider trading. Additional institutions and individual people’s names were added in November, increasing the number to more than 70 in the “worldwide crackdown on terrorist financing,” but no banks in Saudi Arabia were listed. Interestingly, The Faysal Islamic Bank, located in Bahrain, and the Kuwait Finance House, located in Kuwait, were not included in the financial institutions to be investigated. Yet, several European reports identified these banks as having connections to terrorists, and Deutschebank conducted business with them.
All 9/11 government investigations purposely ignored Bahrain and Kuwait banks with known terrorism connections. Why would Bahrain and Kuwait banks be omitted from investigation? Perhaps because of their Bush family ties, including connections to Harken Energy.
In 1990, George W. Bush was a major stockholder on the board of directors of Harken Energy, where he sat along side some of the significant contributors to his father’s campaign. Despite having a disastrous track record of drilling projects, Bahrain signed substantial drilling contracts with Harken. It was later believed that Bahrain’s actions were designed to obtain significance in the Bush Administration, even though Bahrain is 200 miles from Iraq and Kuwait. In fact, as soon as the Bahrain-Harken Energy deal was announced, the U. S. and Bahrain made an agreement for a military base in Bahrain.
Then, President George H. W. Bush allowed Kuwait and Bahrain to hire a U. S. public relations firm and spend $19.6 million convincing the American people and Congress of the necessity of the Iraq war. This involved having a past ambassador to Bahrain distribute $7.7 million through the Coalition for Americans at Risk and Freedom Task Force front groups for lobbying and advertising purposes. The Coalition for Americans at Risk front group, previously an Iran-Contra front group, ran numerous newspaper and TV ads, and had dozens of speakers appearing at publicity and pro-war events.
In the summer of 1990, and eight days after Bush sold his stock for approximately $1 million, Harken experienced a mysterious $23 million second quarter loss. Approximately six weeks later, Operation Desert Shield was launched in defense of Saudi Arabia, followed by Operation Desert Storm in January 1991. A criminal insider trading investigation of Harken began, but was inexplicably closed in 1991. SEC records show that insider stock trade reports were filed late four different times by George W. Bush, in violation of federal statutes.
How did Bush beat the insider trading investigation? At the time, the SEC chairman was a former deputy counsel to President George H. W. Bush when he had been Vice President. In addition, the actual SEC investigation never interviewed any Harken directors about “enforcement” oversight. The investigation was headed by George W. Bush’s former personal lawyer.
A U.S. News & World Report article appearing in March 1992 said, “according to documents on file with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bush 43’s position on the Harken (restructuring) committee gave him detailed knowledge of the company’s deteriorating financial condition.”
A reporter contacted the SEC to obtain copies of Bush’s stock filings. This occurred between December 2000 and January 2001, when the Supreme Court was choosing Bush as the winner of the 2000 presidential election. After several weeks the SEC told the reporter that all of the original documents relating to the Bush case had been destroyed in compliance with the SEC’s six-year retention period.
Events in November 2001 —
On November 9, 2001, a student advised school officials that on November 12 a plane crash would occur. On November 12, Flight 587 left JFK Airport bound for the Dominican Republic. Several minutes into the flight, both engines fell off the wings and the plane crashed into a harbor killing all 260 aboard. The cause of the crash was listed as an accident. This was the same student that told his teacher on September 6, 2001, that the two towers would not be standing one week later.
Events in December 2001 —
During a December 22, 2001, flight from Paris, France to Miami, Florida, a passenger, and member of al-Qaeda, tried to detonate a bomb in his shoe. Fortunately, perspiration from the “shoe bomber” prevented the fuse on the bomb from being lit. The plane was diverted to Boston, where the passengers were evacuated and the “shoe bomber” was arrested. The bomber was later found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
As a result of the “shoe bomber,” passengers must take off their shoes when going through security to board an airplane.
Events in 2002 —
In May, an article appeared in the Washington Post regarding Rep. Peter Goss’s CIA career. Goss referred to revelations that five weeks before 9/11 Bush had been informed of airplane hackings possibly being planned by some of bin Laden’s followers as “a lot of nonsense.” Interestingly, the article contained the following paragraph,
“On the morning of Sept. 11, Goss and Graham were having breakfast with a Pakistani general named Mahmud Ahmed — the soon-to-be-sacked head of Pakistan’s intelligence service. Ahmed ran a spy agency notoriously close to Osama bin Laden and the Taliban.”
In a 2002 interview, Condoleezza Rice said that foretelling the 9/11 attacks would have been challenging even if additional information had been available to President Bush. ”The fact is, this, in retrospect even, looks hard to put together. At the time we were looking at something very different,” she said.
On July 4, 2002, an Egyptian terrorist attacked the ticket counter of El Al Airlines at the Los Angeles International Airport. He killed two people and wounded four before being killed. In 2004 it was discovered the case had been “officially designated as an act of international terrorism” by the Justice Department.
Events in 2004 —
In October of 2004, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) released a report about how the World Trade Center collapse occurred. Underwriters Laboratories (UL), who was responsible for certifying the steel the World Trade Center towers were made of, sent a letter in response to the report.
According to the letter, tests performed on floor models illustrate that burning jet fuel would not have created enough metallurgical stress to cause the buildings to collapse.
Theories of why the buildings fell were made by numerous “experts” as mentioned in the letter. One of these “experts” was a member of the original construction crew who claimed 2000F fires melting the steel caused the collapse. A newspaper reporting on the story added that NIST agreed with that theory.
UL said the certification process they used would have subjected samples to temperatures of approximately 2000F for hours. Yet, non-fireproofed steel doesn’t even melt below 3000F.
In 2003, NIST stated they could “rule out weak steel as a contributing factor in the collapse,” and that prior to the WTC collapse the temperature the steel was exposed to was about 500F. Yet the new NIST report completely contradicts the earlier findings of NIST.
In addition, the new report says softening in the perimeter columns caused buckling in the steel core and the collapse of the structure. Yet, the columns were not exposed to temperatures above 250C, even though the temperature for forging must be above 1100C.
These are experts responsible for building the WTC completely refuting the government’s official story of jet fuel causing the WTC collapse. At the time, two theories were discussed as explanations for the collapse: jet fuel and controlled demolition. Now the question becomes, who planted the explosives and why?
Events in 2016 —
The business and financial ties between the Bushes and Saudi royalty have existed for decades and still continue to this day.
An estimated $1.4 billion has discreetly and indirectly been transferred from Saudi royalty to the Bushes over the years. The Saudis have even made contributions to Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign. A combined donation of $15,000 was made to Jeb’s super PAC in February from two Saudi Arabian lobbyists. One of those lobbyists, who is a foreign agent for both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, made an additional donation in the form of bundled contributions of $32,400.
How America Changed After the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks —
As Obama’s first chief of staff Rahm Emanuel is famous for saying,
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is, an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”
Even if you create the crisis yourself.
President Franklin Roosevelt is often quoted as having said,
“In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens you can bet it was planned that way.”
As a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, he would know.
According to a Council on Foreign Relations terror expert commenting on 9/11, “This shows that you can have mass-destruction terrorism without weapons of mass destruction. And that even a missile defense won’t help.”
A senior intelligence source actually revealed the purpose for the attacks: “We’re going to have to enact laws that some people from the far left and the far right won’t like.” He added, “We have to understand that national security will have to take some precedence over what we have seen as the right to privacy.”
After the attacks, Intelligence Committee member Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) said, “But frankly, my second reaction was that all of the things we’ve been saying we have to do maybe through this disaster they’ll get more attention.”
Following the attacks of 9/11, the Office of Homeland Security was created by Bush so intelligence agencies would share information and prevent another 9/11 from happening. He did not want the position to be a cabinet-level position to shield the agency from potential questioning by Congress.
In November 2002, the Department of Homeland Security was created by integrating various federal agencies to provide enhanced security against terror.
Did you know that on September 10, 2001, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld (BB, CFR) announced $2.3 trillion was missing from the Pentagon? On 9/11, Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. The point of impact was the Defense Department’s Accounting Office. Nearly all the staff were killed. No photographs of the crash scene show airplane parts in the building or on the ground.
On October 26, 2001, the Patriot Act was signed, which made numerous changes to existing laws about security and privacy in the wake of 9/11. The most egregious change was authorizing the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, that answers to no one, to approve search warrants against U. S. citizens the FBI thinks could be active in terrorism. This could also invalidate parts of the First Amendment, such as public protests.
Expanding the “sneak-and-peek” abilities for law enforcement was among the most controversial sections (Section 213) of the Patriot Act. This allows searches to be conducted without the knowledge of the search target. This was sold to the public as necessary to prevent terrorism from occurring in the country. What about the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution?
In 2014, a report published by the Electronic Frontier Foundation analyzed government data to determine how effective Section 213 was at preventing terrorism. The report revealed something quite unexpected.
There were 3,970 sneak-and-peek requests made from September 2001 to April 2003, with 47 being authorized. Just three years later, 11,129 requests had been processed. Why had there been such a dramatic increase? Instead of only being used in special circumstances, they were being used as a standard investigative procedure.
After Obama took office in 2009, the vast majority of requests were for drug cases, not terrorism. The 2010 report shows that 76% of the 3.970 requests were for drug cases, but only 0.9% (37) were for terrorism. The 2011 report was more of the same with 75% of the 6,775 requests being for drug cases, but only 0.5% (31) were for terrorism. The report of 2012 continued the pattern with 0.6% (58) of the requests being for terrorism. Similar results were again reported in 2013, with 0.5% (51) of the 11,129 requests being for terrorism, while 84% were for drug cases.
The overall increase in sneak-and-peek searches from 16 a year before the Patriot Act was passed, to over 11,129 in 2013 is staggering And the terrorism law is not even being used on terrorism cases because there are so few! Does this mean the war on terror is a fraud?
The Patriot Act was co-authored by Michael Chertoff, who became Secretary of Homeland Security in 2005. Chertoff has a lobbying company that includes manufacturers of body scanners as clients. The same body scanners used by the TSA division of the Homeland Security Department.
Amazingly, in 2015, the inspector general for the Justice Department issued a report stating the Patriot Act resulted in zero terrorism cases being solved. Using part of the Patriot Act as justification, the FBI tripled collection of bulk data from 2004 to 2009. Although no cases were solved, agents reported the information they collected was useful as corroborating existing information and cultivate other leads.
The NSA has used the Patriot Act to spy on U. S. citizens. In 2015, when parts of the Patriot Act were up for renewal, including NSA spying on citizens, those parts were not renewed. Instead, the USA Freedom Act was signed that reinstated the parts that were not renewed under the Patriot Act.
The Classified 28 Pages of the Congressional Joint Inquiry Report —
In December 2002, the Congressional Joint Inquiry published its final report. Although it was more than 850 pages long, 28 pages had been declared classified and were missing from the report. President Bush’s excuse was that making the pages public “would show people how we collect information and on whom we’re collecting information, which would be harmful on the war against terror.”
According to an article that appeared in The Guardian, the 28 pages document a story that is not new, but nonetheless important. “The U.S. is addicted to cheap oil, and shows no inclination to wean itself off it. Washington officialdom is hooked on the easy money Riyadh offers in the world of consultancies and think tanks when they retire. The Saudi royal family, meanwhile, has its own addictions. It depends on the U.S. arms industry, of which it is the biggest foreign customer.”
In 2008, Sen. Graham published a book, Intelligence Matters, which condemned what the Bush administration did prior to 9/11 and after, as well as classifying the 28 pages. Graham has said, “point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier” of 9/11. The book details how Bush protected the Saudi royalty from being investigated to determine if there were any connections to the hijackers.
At a town hall campaign event in 2015, Jeb Bush was asked if he would release the 28 pages as president. He replied, I don’t know what the 28 pages are, so please explain it. Look, I can’t commit to something until I see it. Since I don’t have classified information, I can’t tell you what it is or tell you whether it should be declassified.” Bush would not allow the person asking the question to describe the 28 pages, even though he requested the person to.
Commenting on the 28 pages, Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC) has said, “There’s nothing in it about national security. It’s about the Bush Administration and its relationship with the Saudis.”
In January 2015, Reps. Walter Jones (R-NC), Stephen Lynch (D-MA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced House Resolution 14, insisting the president publish the 28 pages. So far, more than 40 members of the House have signed as co-sponsors.
In 2016, Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) signed HR 14, and said the 28 pages document “the results of an investigation into whether or not a foreign government was complicit in the al Qaeda directed terrorist attacks on the United States.” He later said, “I don’t know how President Obama can claim that he is running a federal government that prides itself in transparency when, at the same time, he denies the American people the opportunity to better understand the circumstances behind the 9/11 attack on our soil.”
Why won’t Obama release the 28 pages?
Soon after taking office in 2009, Obama was asked if he would release the 28 pages and he said, “absolutely, I don’t see why not . . .” In May 2011, Obama placed a wreath at the former World Trade Center site, as part of celebrating the killing of an Osama bin Laden look-alike. At a reception for victims family members, Obama was asked if he would release the 28 pages. He replied, “I will get them released.”
Congress can declassify the pages without the approval of the president. Citizens will need to contact their senators and representatives and demand the release of the pages.
Why, as President of the United States, does Obama always bow to the Saudi king? Notice he’s bowing from the waist. It’s improper for the leader of one country to bow to the leader of another country.
Did George Bush know what was going to happen on 9/11? If he didn’t actually know, he was responsible for putting policies and procedures into place that would allow something like 9/11 to occur. As President Truman was famous for saying, “The buck stops here.”
The question that should be asked is not whether George Bush kept us safe after 9/11, but whether he ever kept us safe!
