On February 18, 2015, Obama held a “countering violent extremism” conference at the White House. In his remarks, he said Muslim Americans now serve as police officers, firefighters, soldiers, “and in our intelligence communities and in homeland security.” Here are some of the more outrageous remarks he made:

“Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding.”

“The first Islamic center in New York City was founded in the 1890s. America’s first mosque, this was an interesting fact, was in North Dakota.”

“It’s also a story that every American must never forget, because it reminds us all that hatred and bigotry and prejudice have no place in our country. It is not just counterproductive. It doesn’t just aid terrorists. It’s wrong. It’s contrary to who we are.”

So-called hate crimes against Muslims escalated in the U. S. following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 — attacks perpetrated by Islamic radicals — but they have never reached the level of hate crimes against Jews, according to the FBI’s annual Uniform Crime Reporting statistics. In 2013, for example, 62.4 percent of hate crime victims were attacked because of anti-Jewish bias, while 11.6 percent were victims of anti-Islamic bias. Compare that with the year before the 2001 terror attacks: In 2000, of the 1,699 victims of anti-religious hate crime, 74.6 percent were victims of an offender’s anti-Jewish bias; and only 2.1 percent were victims of an offender’s anti-Islamic bias.

The New York City Islamic Center was established in 1929, not the 1890s.

This speech is another in a long line of speeches full of lies about religion in America.

In April 2009, at the G20 summit in London, world leaders greeted each other with a customary handshake. Obama, however, greeted the king of Saudi Arabia with a full bow from the waist. This denotes subservience to the king, which is an inappropriate manner for the leader of one country to greet the leader of another country.

On April 5, 2009, Obama gave his first presidential speech in a Muslim nation, Turkey, which is 99% Muslim.

“… [W]e have a very large Christian population. We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation; we consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”

In reality, at the time, 77% of Americans considered themselves Christians.

The Supreme Court has even ruled that the United States is a Christian nation! In the 1931 case, United States v. Macintosh, the court held that We are a Christian nation. In the 1952 case, Zorach v. Clauson, the Court ruled, We are a religious people and our institutions presuppose a Supreme Being.

In 1957, legislation was enacted that added our national motto, In God We Trust, on all of our currency.

On June 4, 2009, Obama gave a speech in Cairo, Egypt. He made the following statements:

“I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s story . . . And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars . . . I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear . . .”

In the United States, the First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, which means citizens can practice whatever religion they want, and the government cannot designate a state religion. Why would the President of the United States say he feels it’s part of his responsibility to fight against negative stereotypes of any religion, especially one practiced by less than 1% of the population? Where is this mentioned in the Constitution as a duty of the president? If he’s going to fight these stereotypes wherever they appear, does that mean in countries other than the United States, that he is not president of?

In an interview a few days before the speech Obama said, “If you actually took the number of Muslims Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” In reality, the United States population of Muslims does not even put the United States in the top 50 Muslim countries based on Muslim population. Estimates of the total Muslim population in the United States ranges from 1.8 million to 7 million. There is no way to determine an accurate number.

In an August 11, 2010 statement marking the start of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Muslim year requiring strict fasting from sunrise to sunset, Obama again said, “Islam has always been part of America.”

In a 2014 statement marking Eid, a celebration that comes at the end of Ramadan, Obama said the holiday “also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”

Are any of the comments Obama made about Islam in the United States true?

Why didn’t he mention the fact that African Muslims rounded up fellow African Muslims and sold them to Dutch traders as slaves to be brought to America?

“Islam has always been part of America”

The Barbary pirates of the Ottoman Empire (Muslims) operated from North Africa, primarily from the ports of Algiers, Tunis and Tripoli, and ports in Morocco, in an area known as the Barbary Coast. The pirates plundered and pillaged towns and villages in West Africa and South America, among other locations, as well as throughout the Mediterranean, including Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, the British Isles, and the Netherlands. The raids had been known in the Mediterranean since the 9th century. In addition to raiding towns, the pirates captured thousands of ships and held their crews for ransom.

During the American Revolutionary War (1775 – 1783), American ships were attacked by pirates. At the end of 1777, the sultan of Morocco declared American merchant ships were protected by the sultanate and would enjoy safe passage throughout the Mediterranean. In 1787, Morocco became the first country to recognize the United States as an independent nation. France protected American shipping from 1778 – 1783, under the Treaty of Alliance.

In October 1784, Moroccan pirates captured an American ship. The Spanish government negotiated the freedom of the ship and crew, and advised the United States to offer tribute to prevent further attacks. The U. S. Ambassador to France, Thomas Jefferson, sent envoys to Morocco and Algeria to negotiate treaties and obtain the freedom of captured sailors being held by Algeria. In June of 1786, Morocco signed a treaty with the U. S. ending Moroccan pirate raids on American ships. Algeria, which had been raiding and capturing American ships during the previous 12 months, demanded $660,000 for the release of sailors they were holding. Each of the other three Barbary Coast states demanded the same amount for the release of the sailors they were holding. The American envoy was only authorized to spend $40,000, so no agreement was reached. Algeria finally made an agreement to release the 115 American sailors they held and prevent further piracy if the U. S. paid a tribute of over $1 million. That amount was approximately one-sixth of the entire U. S. budget at the time. The agreement did not stop the continued demands for tribute from the Barbary Coast.

In March 1785, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with Tripoli’s ambassador. When they asked “concerning the ground of the pretensions to make war upon nations who had done them no injury”, the ambassador replied:

It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy’s ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.

Later, Adams wrote about the Islamic perspective on the negotiations by saying:

The precept of the Koran is perpetual war against all who deny that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful follower of the prophet may submit to the imperious necessities of defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective. The commands of the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force.

Jefferson reported the conversation to Secretary of Foreign Affairs (State) John Jay, who forwarded the Ambassador’s comments and offer to Congress. Jefferson argued that paying tribute would encourage more attacks. Although Adams agreed with Jefferson, he believed the U. S. had to pay tribute until an adequate navy could be built, since the Revolutionary War had exhausted the country, and put the nation deep in debt. The U.S. paid Algiers the ransom, and continued to pay up to $1 million per year over the next 15 years for the safe passage of American ships or the return of American hostages. The $1 million extortion now amounted to approximately 10% of the U. S. government’s annual revenues in 1800.

The American navy was recommissioned in 1794. In 1798, the U. S. Department of the Navy was founded to protect American shipping and end the extortion demands.

After Thomas Jefferson was inaugurated President of the United States in 1801, a governor of Tripoli demanded $225,000 from the U. S. government. President Jefferson refused. Two months later, the governor declared war on the United States. Thus began the First Barbary War (1801 – 1805).

In 1802, Jefferson requested authority to deal with the pirates. Congress passed an act authorizing the president to protect commerce and seamen of the United States by employing armed vessels of the United States.

burningPhiladelphiaIn October 1803, Tripoli’s fleet captured the U. S. Naval vessel Philadelphia intact after the frigate ran aground while patrolling Tripoli harbor. The crew were unable to float the ship, since they were under fire, and all officers and crew were captured and held as hostages. The ship was then used against the Americans as a gun battery. In February 1804, a lieutenant and a small detachment of U.S. Marines were able to storm the Philadelphia and overpower the Tripolitan sailors. With fire support from American warships, the Marines set fire to the Philadelphia to stop it from being used by the enemy. British Admiral Horatio Nelson reportedly called this “the most bold and daring act of the age.”

The end of the war came in 1805, with the Battle of Derna (April–May 1805). A former Army officer and a U. S. Marine Corps lieutenant led a force of eight U.S. Marines, and 500 mercenaries from various countries, on a march across the desert from Egypt to assault and capture the Tripolitan city of Derna. For the first time since gaining its independence, the United States flag was raised in victory on foreign soil. This battle is memorialized in a line of the U. S. Marine Corps Hymn, “To the Shores of Tripoli”.

A peace treaty was signed in June 1805 ending the war. In 1807, Algiers resumed capturing American ships and sailors. Distracted by events leading up to the War of 1812, America did not respond to Algerian attacks on ships until 1815. In March 1815, Congress authorized the Second Barbary War, which ended four months later with the signing of a peace treaty. By signing the peace treaty, Algiers agreed to stop extorting tributes from the United States, and the U. S. would have full shipping rights. This war also marked the beginning of the end for the Ottoman Empire. During the next 100 years, European countries built sophisticated and technologically superior ships the pirates could not match. As a result, European countries began taking control of some of the Empire’s cities and reducing the size of the Ottoman Empire.

“They have fought in our wars”

In World War I (1914 – 1918), the Ottoman Empire joined the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Bulgaria, to fight against the United States and the other allied powers of the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Italy, Japan, and Romania. As a result of the Allied victory in World War I, the Ottoman Empire ceased to exist and was dismantled, eventually becoming Turkey, one of more than 50 predominantly Muslim countries in the world.

Turkey tried to remain neutral during World War II, following 11 years of incessant wars. In February 1945, Turkey joined the war on the side of the Allies. Turkey limited its participation to providing materials and supplies for the Allies, and imposing political and economic sanctions on the Axis (enemy) states. There was no direct participation by Turkey in the military conflict. After World War II, the United States aided Europe in rebuilding their economies and modernize their industries through the European Recovery Plan, called the Marshall Plan. Although not a European country, Turkey was given more than $135 million in the Plan.

“Islam has always been a part of America’s story”

On February 26, 1993, a group of Muslim terrorists bombed the World Trade Center in New York City, killing six and wounding more than 1,000. The terrorists had hoped to kill thousands in the two towers, but fortunately their bomb wasn’t powerful enough. After being arrested, one of the terrorists allegedly said to investigators, “this is only the beginning.”

Eight years later, Muslim terrorists successfully destroyed the World Trade Center, along with killing almost 3,000 people on September 11, 2001. The Trade Center was destroyed when commercial airliners that had been hijacked were flown into the two towers, and they subsequently collapsed. Fifteen of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

More than a year later, on November 27, 2002, the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States was created “to prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11 attacks“, including preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks. Initially, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger (a BB, CFR, TC), was going to chair the Commission, but he dropped out because he did not want to disclose the clients of his private consulting business. At the same time, former U.S. Senator George Mitchell (a CFR) was appointed vice-chairman, but he dropped out because he did not want to leaave his law firm. Former New Jersey Governor Thomas Kean (a CFR) was appointed Chairman, and former Congressman Lee H. Hamilton (a CFR) was appointed Vice-chairman. The Commission consisted of an additional nine members. Out of the nine members, three were CFRs (Jamie Gorelick, Bob Kerrey, and John F. Lehman). That means that nearly 50% of the members of the 9/11 Commission were members of a secret society dedicated to the destruction of the national sovereignty of the United States. What better way to try to accomplish that than with a war. The Commission published a final report 18 months after it was created, and closed on August 21, 2004.

Twenty-eight pages of the 9/11 Commission report were redacted and never released to the public. Over the years, bits and pieces of the 28 pages have leaked and become public. There is now a push to have these pages released to the public. According to some congressmen and others that have seen the pages, the 28 pages implicate Saudi Arabia as having played a role in the 9/11 attack.

“Muslim Americans serve as police officers”

According to a declassified counterintelligence briefing prepared by the Pentagon,

“Employment by a non-Muslim government of a Muslim investigator to investigate other Muslims places the investigator in the position of violating the tenets of his beliefs and may force his recourse to deception, lying, and/or the giving of misleading impressions.”

Approximately ten years ago, an Afghan immigrant, Mohammad Weiss Rasool, became a police sergeant with the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD). The FCPD is the largest in Virginia and partners with the FBI in investigating major terrorism cases in the Washington, D.C., area.

At the mosque where Mohammad worshipped, a fellow Muslim friend told Mohammad he thought he was being followed. Subsequently, Mohammad searched a classified federal police database, learned FBI agents were following his friend, and told his friend. When FBI agents went to arrest the friend, they found him and his family destroying evidence. The FBI realized there was an informant somewhere in the system, and worked hard until they found Mohammad. They discovered he had breached the classified database at least 15 times to look up names of other Muslim friends and family on the terrorist watch list and discovered there were some. According to papers filed in federal court, Mohammad’s illegal searches jeopardized at least one federal investigation, and could have endangered federal agents.

Mohammad eventually pleaded guilty to a serious security breach, but was only sentenced to two years of probation. He was still on the FCPD payroll several months after his conviction, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Why no jail time when the prosecutors had requested it? Because the federal judge was influenced by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). According to a FCPD official, Mohammad was “deeply embedded with CAIR . . . he was the spokesman to the department for CAIR.”

Mohammad arranged meetings for CAIR with the FCPD police chief, in which CAIR complained about numerous things, including demanding Muslim sensitivity training of officers. In an email to CAIR officials regarding the agenda of an upcoming meeting with police, Mohammad reminded them to appear “friendly,” and not create tension so they could make more demands later. Mohammad also advised CAIR he would give the police chief a copy of a report that encouraged law enforcement to treat Arabs and Muslims with kid gloves.

How did someone like Mohammad get hired by a police department? Because the department was trying to diversify its work force due to an increasing Muslim population, the department overlooked red flags raised during Mohammad’s application process, according to a department official. A fellow Muslim officer, and a friend, vouched for Mohammad’s loyalty. This officer remained on the police force, even after Mohammad was convicted.

In addition to illegally accessing a classified database. Mohammad also successfully worked with other Muslim officers and CAIR to discontinue a successful counterterror-training program within the department that was partially designed to help identify spies like Mohammad. CAIR and other Muslim groups claim they want cooperation with law enforcement to help apprehend terrorists, but apparently, not so much.

CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist organization case, with CAIR being the Holy Land’s main fundraising organization for Hamas in America. Federal prosecutors listed CAIR as a member of the U. S. branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, that spawned Hamas, al-Qaida, and other terrorist groups, and seeks to institutionalize Islamic law, or Shariah, in America. According to declassified FBI documents, CAIR is part of the pro-jihad, anti-USA Muslim Brotherhood, which directs its terror-supporting fronts to infiltrate government agencies, collect intelligence for the enemy, and “sabotage” the government from within.

CAIR’s founder and former chairman, Omar M. Ahmad, a Palestinian refugee, was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land case by U. S. prosecutors. Ahmad has told local Muslims that they are in America to help assert Islam’s rule over the country. “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant,” Ahmad was quoted as saying by a local reporter. “The Quran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

As proof positive that CAIR is directly linked to the Hamas network inside America, at the Islamic Association for Palestine’s (IAP) meeting on July 30, 1994, the purpose of the meeting, according to the minutes, was to discuss “suggestions to develop [the] work of CAIR” and its “coordination” with Hamas’ organizations of IAP, Holy Land, and the Washington-based United Association for Studies and Research. Six weeks later, CAIR was incorporated.

Traveling to the Middle East to raise money is a regular occurrence for CAIR executives. Saudi princes have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to CAIR, according to wire transfers, even though CAIR claims they receive no foreign support.

CAIR is a nonprofit organization, which means it’s exempt from paying federal income taxes and is not required to disclose the identities of its financial donors. One of the more notable members of CAIR is U. S. Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) (CFR), the first Muslim member of Congress. There are now two Muslim members in Congress.

“Muslim Americans serve as soldiers”

Approximately ten years ago, a U. S. Army captain, and Muslim chaplain, was charged with espionage while serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was arrested at a U. S. airport when he returned from Gitmo, and had classified documents, including maps and lists of U. S. interrogators and Taliban and al-Qaida detainees, in his possession. He was charged with espionage and other crimes, but the charges were dropped to protect national security. Two fellow Muslim employees at Gitmo were convicted of stealing or mishandling classified documents.

The captain was relentlessly defended by CAIR, who called his prosecution an “injustice” and said he was subjected to “inhumane” treatment. In a media guide released by CAIR, the captain was sympathetically portrayed as an example of the ideal Muslim that dutifully “counseled” fellow Muslims at Gitmo.

The captain’s lasting influence on Gitmo includes prayer rugs being standard issue for detainees; the Arabic call to prayer being played five times a day on loud speakers; hardbound, embossed copies of the Quran are wrapped in cloth and distributed, and no infidel is allowed to touch the Quran, including the post commander.

In 2009, as a Muslim American U. S. Army major in the medical corps (psychiatrist) was preparing for deployment to Afghanistan, he began making anti-American comments to his colleagues. On November 5, 2009, Maj. Hasan killed 13 soldiers in the Fort Hood massacre, and wounded 32 others before he was stopped. He is now on death row.

This was the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11, but the government instead labeled it workplace violence. This designation denied survivors certain benefits that would have assisted them in their recovery from the shooting.

According to a noted historian, the biggest contributions Muslims made to “building the very fabric of our nation” were the slave trade and the Barbary Wars. Experts label Obama’s efforts at changing history as attempted myth-making.

Remember: Any group, whether it’s a religion, nationality, profession, etc., has both good members and bad members. Usually, just the bad members are the members everyone hears about. Is this wrong? Of course it is, but it’s also reality.
